This sunny apartment is in the heart of the old town placing you in the epicentre of Nice. Wake up to the aroma of the boulangeries, and savour unrivalled views of mountains and church towers, from its double aspect lounge windows. The apartment is decorated with a combination of stylish English and French furniture, thus retaining the authentic feel with original features including high ceilings, tomette flooring, fireplace and windows/shutters and whisper ceiling fans for your comfort. It is on the fourth floor, so despite the (shallow and wide) stairs, it is worth it to gain the most sunshine and least disturbance above street level.
Karen is our Concierge who will meet and greet you on arrival.
Overview
Why Nice is so nice!
The French Riviera is renowned for glamorous hotspots such as Cannes, Monaco and St Tropez; and Nice is the ideal location from which to explore these desirable destinations and more of the captivating coastline, be it by yacht, train or bicycle. Nice offers a myriad of activities such as exhilarating watersports, exclusive bars, spectacular hikes and top notch restaurants. Stroll along the infamous Promenade des Anglais which runs parallel to the ocean and the town; providing an ideal spot to walk, run, cycle, or rollerblade for miles! Events in Nice run all year round, from the impressive Christmas markets to the spectacular Carnival in mid -February.
It is hard to pick the best time to holiday in the French Riviera, with every month offering something special. Nice offers the very rare possibility of going skiing in the Alps in the morning, then spending the afternoon on a mesmerising Mediterranean beach. If you walk out the flat for 20m then take a left, you are on the beach with a plethora of beach bars to choose from. Pop to ‘Cours Saleya’, the backbone of Mediterranean lifestyle, where you can buy fresh fish, flowers and fruit and veg. The tram stop is 2 minutes from the apartment, and the train station is a 10 minute walk down the high street. We recommend hiring the blue bicycles (free for first half hour), as the promenade is a flat stretch, perfect for cycling! The Old Town boasts delightful narrow streets with tall houses looming above you, with their typical French shutters. You needn’t walk far for dinner as you are spoilt for choice literally on your doorstep; take your pick from the variety of cuisines available...
For a memorable week we have some of itinerary suggestions; pop to Italy within the hour on Saturday for the authentic morning markets, or explore the charms of Corsica which is accessible by ferry from Nice Port. You may not have heard of Villefranche; this seaside gem is opposite Cap Ferrat, and is home to many of the most exclusive villas in the world. Furthermore, Eze is a medieval village precariously perched on a rocky peak, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea with the castle being the main attraction. Hire a car and drive, or if you’re feeling fit put your walking boots on and hike up, to truly capture the essence of the Côte d’Azur.
