I had a really lovely stay here and would definitely recommend it. The view is absolutely stunning and was the highlight – sitting on the balcony overlooking the sea was so peaceful. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The location is great for the seafront and marina, and I found parking available on the road directly in front of the building, which was really convenient. Check-in was smooth and straightforward, which I appreciated. A great place to stay if you’re looking for beautiful sea views and a relaxing coastal break.

It is our first time at Astor House. Booking in and entry was easy and then we were greeted by a fabulous apartment. Everything for our 4 night stay was there. On top of this although we were spoilt with sunshine the views are just fantastic. We can certainly recommend.

Known predominantly for the birth of Agatha Christie, the vibrant and cheerful town of Torquay offers a relaxing sea side break, or a town brimming with activities and excitement.

Most apartments at Astor House come with breath-taking uninterrupted views of the Torquay sea, from our south-facing cliff-top location. The apartments are an ideal base to explore the surroundings areas of the fisherman’s town Brixham, just across the bay from Toquay, or the funky town of Totnes on the River Dart.

With new restaurants, bars, the marina and high street shops a stone’s throw away, there is something to entertain everyone in Torquay.

All apartments have been recently newly built or refurbished and offer stylish and modern interiors. High standards of customer satisfaction are a priority for us. All our apartments are looked after by our Housekeeping and Maintenance team, who offer prompt and attentive services as required by our guests.

We offer some specially selected plum picks to enhance your stay including early check in/late check outs, choice of tasty hampers and we do offer some pet friendly apartments on request.

Accessibility
Astor House address is Warren Rd TQ2 5TN and is the fifth house from the Shedden Hill western end of the road. There is unrestricted roadside parking on Warren Rd and guests with mobility issues maybe dropped off at the house while a parking space is found. There is a large car park on Shedden Hill. The train station is less than a mile away and the nearest bus stop on Shedden Hill.

The south facing gardens with sea views are accessible on the garden floor to the right of the stairs. There are many steps and slopes to reach the level garden at the bottom with handrails available for part of the way. The beach and town centre can be reached via Rock Walk accessed from the bottom of the garden. There are a range of restaurants and cafes to be found there as well as Princess Theatre.

The nearest supermarket is Tesco Express in Fleet St in the town centre. There is no nearby parking and it is half a mile away down a hill. Alternatively Sainsburys and Marks and Spencer can be found a short drive away at the Willows Shopping Centre.

The roadside entrance to Astor House reaches the ground floor with apartments to be found as follows: Nos 8 10 and 11 on the ground floor. Nos 12 14 15 on the garden floor, Nos 3, 5 and 6 on the first floor and Nos 1, 1a and 2 on the second floor.

The nearest doctors surgery is Parkhill Surgery 01803 212489 at the bottom of Trinity Hill and a Pharmacy on Torwood St. There are lots of taxis eg 01803 211611, 01803 209209 and 01803 292292. Mobility shops include Cavendish Health Care and Mobility 01803 220738 and New Ability 01803 555961.

Various aids are available on request including ramps, bath mats, raised toilet seats and hypoallegenic bedding and if you have any other needs or queries do get in touch.
