A small tourist information office is in the centre of Villefranche and in Nice it is situated near the fountain at Place Massena and another one on the Promenade des Anglais next to the casino.
You will find that buying a one week unlimited pass is well worth it. It is very useful to jump on and off trams and buses. Buses will take you to Cannes, Monaco, Eze, Villefranche, Menton Antibes and although a slower option than the SNCF train it works out very cheap! SNCF trains are fast and also good value, they depart from the SNCF station which is signposted from the railway bridge at the bottom of Jean Medicin (a short tram ride from the apartment).
Available to hire for short periods, you will see them recharging in their docking stations https://www.nice.fr/fr/transports-et-deplacements/prise-de-nice Please note if the car is not returned properly your card will be charged accordingly. You can also buy cards to charge your own car at a low cost.
You can order your supermarket shopping on line at a local supermarket SuperU in Beaulieu; https://www.coursesu.com/f-superu-beaulieusurmer-informations. You can book before your arrival as long as delivery is booked for after your arrival. Please instruct the delivery driver to ring the bell for ‘MITTLER’ on arrival. You will need to go down in the lift and meet them in the foyer – they will bring your goods up the flat.
There is a Casino supermarket at the top of the hill from the flat in the Col de Villefranche area (7 mins walk up but downhill once you have your shopping!). There is a small car park plus on road parking. There are several shops including a very good butchers, pharmacy, bakers and the Casino supermarket.
There is also a food market every Saturday 08:00-13:00 in the town centre park area by the tourist information centre and another Casino small supermarket on the main throughfare bus route in villefranche.
If you visit Nice, Cours Saleya is the place for buying fresh fruit, veg, cheese, olives everyday until 13;00 except Monday when it is a flea market.
