- A walk on the beach
Devon is rightly famous for its fabulous beaches and with over 22 miles of beautiful coastline in Torbay alone there is always somewhere to exercise your hound and yourself! Some beaches are only open to dogs out of season from October to April, so it is always best to check before you travel.

- Becky Falls
Becky Falls is a fabulous day out for all the family including your furry friend! Based on Dartmoor it is a walker’s paradise suitable for all levels of fitness. Becky Falls has woodland and waterfall walks from gentle strolls to steep descents. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.

- Babbacombe Cliff Railway
Built in 1926 Babbacombe Cliff Railway provides a non-exhausting way for locals and holiday makers alike to soak up the peaceful atmosphere and take in the spectacular views as they travel to and from the water’s edge. Although Oddicombe Beach does not allow dogs from May to September its neighbouring beach (which can be accessed by a walk way) does allow dogs all year round.

- Geocoaching
Geocoaching is great fun for all the family including your dog! There are over 25,000 geocaches in Devon waiting to be sniffed out by you and your pooch. All you need to do to get started is create an account and download the app (add link) which will give you clues on where the nearest geocache is hidden. Once you find a cache and open it, the idea is to then replace the treasure with something of equal value. This is a fantastic way to have some fun and see the beautiful Devonshire countryside!
- Dartmoor National Park
Explore Devon’s great moorland and embark on a day out in Dartmoor National Park with your furry friend. Not only are there countless paths and routes to take through the park, you can also enjoy cycling, canoeing, trail running, wildlife spotting the list is endless.
- South West Coast Path
Devon is blessed with miles and miles of trails and walks where you pooch can roam freely – not least on the famed South West Coast Path! With over 630 miles of coastline to see and explore, no matter where you are in Devon, you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to walk first. Eg around Ansteys cove circular walk.
- Donkey Sanctuary
The Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth provides a great day out. For over 50 years, they have worked to transform the lives of donkeys across the world. There is a fabulous café and dogs are welcome on the lead. There is also a smaller branch you can visit at Ivybridge, near Plymouth.

- South Devon Steam Railway
The South Devon Steam Railway runs from Totnes to Buckfastleigh taking in the pretty views of the River Dart and picturesque valley. It is a seven-mile former Great Western Railway branch line, built in 1872. They run steam trains with heritage rolling stock and offer a wonderful all-day, all-weather attraction. Buckfastleigh is around 22 miles from Exeter, 21 miles from Plymouth, 19 miles from Dartmouth and 13 miles from Paignton.

- Buckfast Abbey
Dating back to 1018 Buckfast Abbey forms part of an active Benedictine monastery. On the west side of the Abbey are two gardens with plants ranging from herbs used in cooking or medicine to poisonous plants. The Abbey is self-supporting, with a farm where vegetables are grown and bees, pigs and cattle are kept, a shop which sells wine, honey beeswax, fudge and other items made by religious communities throughout the world, and a gift shop, book shop, and restaurant.

- Bicton Park Botanical Gardens
With over 64 acres to explore Bicton Park Botanical Gardens is a true delight. It is home to many rare and beautiful species, collected from around the world. The Palm House is made from over 18,000 panes of glass. Why not enjoy a coffee or lunch overlooking the Italian Garden. Explore the arboretum and while away time in the bird hide Ride the Bicton Woodland railway for an oversight of the park. The countryside museum containing a huge collection of bygone days. Finally for the children there are indoor and outdoor play areas, crazy golf, Astro turf football pitch and they can ride the pedal tractors.
