Free ultra-fast Wi-Fi is available throughout Astor House. Network: Plumlocations (choose the strongest signal). Password: astor2517 (case sensitive). If you can’t access the Wi-Fi, please check password carefully; choose another network as above or turn access point (if available) off for at least 30 seconds.
Parking is unrestricted outside Astor House on Warren Road, as well as other surrounding roads. There is a public park nearby on Shedden Hill ( turn left as you leave Astor and it is by the Premier Inn on Shedden Hill). You can also purchase a 3 day or 7 day car park permit, which can then be used in any Torbay car park (Torquay, Paignton and Brixham) from the Tourist Information Office.
You will have one set of keys for your apartment, which is colour coded as follows:
The main front door to the building should always be kept shut. If the key code lock fails for any reason the red key on your key set will open the front door manually.
Access to the garden is via the garden floor. Once in the garden you will need the code to re-enter the house – You need to press C, then the same numeric code as the main front door, followed by Z.
You will have been left one set of keys in the key box outside your apartment. The key safe is also there for your use if you wish to return to the building at different times from others in your party – so extra keys should not be necessary. If you do lock yourself out, there will be a charge.
If you discover a fire please break the nearest break glass and a continuous alarm will sound. Use any safety equipment without risking the safety of you and your guests. If you hear a fire alarm please leave your apartment immediately via your safest exit and assemble outside on the road. Call the Fire Brigade and Housekeeper. Please only re-enter the building once declared safe to do so by the Fire Brigade. A short fire alarm test is carried out weekly on Saturday morning.
Apartments must be vacated by 10am on the morning of departure unless alternative arrangements have been booked. Please do remember to leave the keys on the dining table and please note that a replacement charge will be made for any lost keys. Please ensure you take all your personal belongings with you upon check out and if you leave anything and wish for it to be sent back there is a charge and we can accept no responsibility of returned items.
We provide a choice of welcome hot drinks and biscuits, complementary toiletries and kitchen essentials for your convenience.
We do hope that you find your apartment cleaned to a very high standard with everything working and available. However, if you do experience any problems on arrival, or during your stay, it is very important you let the House Manager (07841 020475) know straight away so that we can take immediate steps to put it right. It is not possible to properly address any complaints of this nature after departure. Should anything get broken during your stay please also let us know so that we can ensure it is replaced for the next guests.
Please note that no wet wipes, nappies or sanitary products can be put down the toilets. Putting anything down apart from toilet paper may cause an immediate blockage.
Cots, high chairs and/or Z beds and bedding will have been put in the apartment if pre-booked. Please note we do not provide cot bedding.
These will be left for you if booked – please use the mattress protector supplied.
There is a free communal laundry on the garden floor along the corridor to the right of the stars. This contains washing machines and dryers.
For those with washing machines with dryers in the apartment, please put no more than half a washing load to dry as otherwise the electricity may trip out and there is a breakdown risk. Apartments are also equipped with drying racks.
The bins are to the left of the property as you go out of the main door.
Please check in the kitchen drawer where you will find instructions for appliances and a list which details the location of your fire blanket/fire extinguishers, first aid kit, water stop clock & electricity mains.Next section: Comfort & Safety
