With rolling hills and luscious landscape, it’s no wonder that South Devon is famous for its award-winning food and drink producers and its farming heritage really is second to none. Buying fresh, local produce is a real highlight for our guests during their stay in our Torquay and Plymouth properties and we’d love to show you a selection of what the region has to offer:
Stokely Farm Shop
Situated between our Plymouth and Torquay properties, Stokely Farm Shop is in the charming village of Stokenham. There is a lovely Deli, butchery, restaurant, café, shop and plant centre, plus pick-your-own strawberries during the season! Being only a mile away from the amazing Slapton Sands, what a great stop on the way back from the beach.

Occombe Farm Shop & Deli
Occombe Farm Shop and Deli is crammed full of local produce, blended with a welcoming cafe space for chilling and refuelling. The Deli shop is crammed with gorgeous things sourced from across Devon. There are heaps of artisan foods, deli treats, regional wines, beers, ciders and spirits, toys, gifts and cards. A local hub for a taste of the West Country’s finest.
Before deciding what to purchase why not sample some of the goods on offer in the Deli café, where you will find handmade stone-baked pizzas, filled croissants, rustic sandwiches, cakes and sweet treats, plus local beers and wines, and a range of hot and cold drinks too.

Churston Traditional Farm Shop, Dartmouth Road, Brixham
Fifty-five percent of everything found in this traditional farm shop is sourced from within the South Hams. They sell their own 28-day lamb and 28-day hung Aberdeen Angus beef. There is also a small garden and plant centre. Personally, we would recommend one of their breakfasts! An old fashioned, personal service in the heart of Devon.

Riverford Organic Farm Shop
Whether you want brunch, lunch, or supper, a visit here will inspire you to cook and eat veg in a whole new way! Whilst here why not take a walk around the polytunnel and kitchen garden, to see where the veg you’ll be eating is grown in a true field-to-fork experience. Booking online is essential. You can dine in the restaurant where the walls are adorned with dried flowers grown in the garden, or on the garden terrace amongst the herb garden. https://www.riverford.co.uk/about/our-restaurant
Darts farm
This multi-award-winning mega farm offers a huge array of food and drink in its large food hall where you’ll find more than 50 different types of fruit and veg. The farm offers a choice of three eateries, a large play area for children, and shopping outlets for other retailers, including Fired Earth and Cotswold Outdoor. There is also a very popular gelateria. Another unusual feature at Darts Farm is the outdoor sculpture trail, and there is even a walk down to a wetland nature reserve. With all this on offer, as well as fishing ponds, a bird hide, a maize maze and more, Darts isn’t just a working farm but a huge destination farm shop and visitor attraction too.

Strawberry Fields Lifton
Delightfully, this farm has pick-your-own wildflowers and sunflowers, as well as pick-your-own fruit. We think this is a beautiful activity and it’s both family-friendly and incredibly romantic. The farm shop itself is stocked daily with only the freshest produce, with seasonal fruit and vegetables and other delights. The on-site bakery keeps the shelves stocked with indulgent pastry treats and loaves of bread, while meat-lovers should check out the butcher’s counter, which is stocked with home-reared lamb and South Devon beef and local pork. Primarily known for its strawberries, Strawberry Fields has also become a popular destination, in autumn don’t miss the annual Pumpkin Fest in autumn!
